Lunch Sports - MMS ($2,500)
Valley Sports is an organization founded by teachers and they hire well qualified staff to provide inclusive lunch activities for kids of all abilities. These activities included soccer, basketball, ultimate frisbee, badminton, ping pong and volleyball. Involvement in lunch time activities is a great way for students to make new friends while promoting healthy habits.
Music Scores - After School Enrichment ($700)
The Moreland Youth Orchestra represents a new after-school initiative that offers mostly middle school students a unique opportunity to participate in a full orchestra, extending their musical skills beyond regular school instruction. The program caters to both entry-level and advanced-level students.
Community Event Coordinator - Anderson ($1,500)
To provide a community event for students and parents. The students and families benefit from these community building activities. It helps us create a more inclusive and positive culture at our school. The success will be measured by increased participation from families, and from their enjoyment of the event.
Bay Area Adventures’ Club - Baker ($450)
Students with limited access to community resources will engage in three field trips to build understanding of common bay area cultural experiences. Students will prepare for these outings during lunch time and then go on the field trip on Friday afterschool. Specifically, students will: (1) Eat at a local restaurant, (2) Go on a local hike, (3) Make salads and have a picnic.
Tablets for apps club - Latimer ($1,400)
To provide a Project Lead the Way elective for Zerio Period called “App Creator.” Sixteen tablets will allow students to share while designing, coding, and testing apps.
Wobble Chairs - Payne
To provide flexible seating in my classroom. Students with diverse needs can use these wobble stools as a different seating option to meet their direct needs and support their learning.
Art Supplies & Postage - EDS. ($500)
To start a Pumpkin Letters Club at EDS where middle schoolers will get together once a week and make cards to mail to lonely seniors. Established in April 2020, Pumpkin Letters is a community of kids, 8-18 years old, who write letters, create art, and make cards for seniors across the country to brighten their day and say, "We're thinking about you and sending you love."
Shirt for Counselors - Moreland School District ($350)
To purchase t-shirts for the Counseling Team at Moreland School District to allow for representation across campuses. Representation across the district allows not only for the Counselors to feel a part of a close-knit group/community but can show the staff, students and families who our Counseling Team is.
Middle School Team Colors - Latimer ($1,500)
To promote a positive school climate and culture and provide all middle school students opportunities to connect with their peers and feel included. This will help foster unity among the middle school with activities such as tie dyed walkathon shirts to match students' color teams. Our color teams are cross-grade level and meet twice a month for team building, school rallies, and SEL curriculum.
